Arlene Popovich

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Popovich.  Arlene passed away on Thursday, February 9th, at the age of 76.

Arlene will be lovingly remembered by her family.  She is survived by:  her cherished husband, Thomas Piascik, her children, John D. Popovich, Michelle (& Konrad) Kasperowicz, and Jason & Janna Piascik.

Arlene was born in Passaic & grew up in Garfield.  After graduating from high school, she pursued a nursing career & earned her RN degree from Hackensack Hospital nursing program.  Arlene decided to pause her career to raise her children but eventually returned to the healthcare field where she worked until retirement.

Arlenes hobbies revolved around nature.  She loved living near the water & their home on the lagoon gave her the perfect front row seat to view various birds who made their home in the wetlands.  She especially loved watching the resident osprey dive for fish.  She was an avid plant collector and enjoyed caring for her array of plants in her sunroom.

Towards the end of her life, Arlene was stricken with Parkinson’s.  Tom was her primary caregiver in her remaining years & selflessly devoted his life to give her exceptional care.  Arlene lovingly referred to Tom as her rock.
