Ann Reese Taylor went home to the Lord on November 5, 2021. Born in Pennsauken on July 18, 1935, she moved to Forked River as a young adult and lived there for most of her life. She raised six children, worked in the family business at Taylor’s Liquor Store, and later as a certified nurses’ aide and slot cashier at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. She eventually retired to care for grandchildren. One of the joys of her later life was caring for her little dogs Petunia and Ivy. She was a member of Lacey United Methodist Church.
She is predeceased by her parents, Howard and Lillian Hewitt as well as her brothers William and Richard Hewitt. Also predeceased are her sons Alfred (Jake) Taylor and Daniel Taylor. Losing two of her sons was a life changing experience that forever impacted her as a mother.
Ann is survived by her children Roxanne Houghkirk of Tuckerton, NJ, Elizabeth (Betty) Krauss of Felton, Delaware, Thomas Taylor and his fiance Heather Mereness of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Ann Taylor Kaconas and her husband Stan Kaconas of Winter Springs, Florida, and Daniel’s wife, Gayle Taylor of Barnegat, NJ. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great granddaughters and a great great grandson on the way.
Funeral and burial services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lacey United Methodist Church or Popcorn Park Zoo.
