Mary "Dee" Hughes

Mary “Dee” Hughes, 82, of the Forked River section of Lacey Township, passed away, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Monaghan, Ireland, Dee came to the United States in 1959.  She married, “Seamus” Hughes.  They lived in The Bronx, NY, Ireland, and settled in Ridgefield Park, where they raised their family.

She worked at The Stephen Lawrence Company, for 25 years.

Dee retired to Forked River to spend her days with her husband, family and grandchildren.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed.

Dee was predeceased by her parents, James and Theresa McQuillan; a sister, Teenie Ginley; and brothers, Jim McQuillan and Packie McQuillan.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, James “Seamus”; son, James; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Gavin, and son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Ellen; cherished grandchildren, Sean Hughes, Robert, Kaitlyn, and Erin Gavin; a brother, Francis McQuillan of Monaghan, Ireland; and many nieces and nephews.
