Joseph E Micciulli passed away at the age of 91 on Saturday August 31, 2019 at Tallwoods Care Center in Bayville, New Jersey.
Mr. Micciulli was predeceased by his wife, Mary Grace Micciulli, in August, 2019.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in Manhattan, Staten Island, Toms River and Somerset, N.J. before moving to Forked River last July.
Joe proudly served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor from 1946 –1947. He played football, baseball and boxed for the U.S. Navy while stationed in Honolulu.
He was an avid sports fan and followed the New York Rangers, the New York Mets, the New York Jets and the New York Giants. He also coached both girls and boys little league baseball teams.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Laura Szumera and son-in-law Marty Szumera of Forked River, NJ; a stepdaughter, Connie Medeiros and son-in-law, Steve Medeiros of Jackson, NJ; a son, Edward Micciulli and daughter-in-law Toni Micciulli of Howell, NJ. He also leaves his grandchildren, Michael Medeiros and his wife Shannon, Christopher Medeiros, Brianna Medeiros Erb and her husband Christian Erb, Edward Micciulli Jr. and Nicholas Micciulli, a brother, Frank Micciulli of Toms River, N.J., great grandchildren, Nicholas and Thomas and many nieces and nephews.
