On April 12, 2017, as John Lewis sat in his favorite chair for his daily reading of the scriptures, he heard the Lord call his name. He gladly answered the call to join Him in Heaven.

He was born on August 16, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to  a British father, George, and an Irish mother, Josephine.

John was a proud member of the United States Navy. During his career, he served on the USS Moale (DD-693), the USS Gridley (DLG- 21), and the USS Koelsch (DE-1049) as an officer, and finally the BUPERS Computer Center at the Pentagon. He retired from the US Navy in 1979 in the rank of Commander after serving for 20 years.

Post-military, he had a successful career with the Wall Street firm of Dillon Read, Inc. He retired in 1995 as senior Vice President.

In his retirement, he gave much of his time volunteering at The Church of St. Pius the Tenth, the Lacey School District, and other organizations benefitting the poor. He was a member of  St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget Quinn Lewis. He is also survived by his  five sons: John H.
