Mrs. Helen Palencia Pie, 67, of Forked River, NJ, peacefully joined the Lord and the angels in heaven on November 14, 2017.
Helen was born on August 31, 1950 in Passi, Iloilo, Philippines. She graduated from Chong Hua Hospital School of Nursing in Cebu, Philippines. She immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1971 where she worked as a nurse and office manager for her husband’s medical practice while raising their three children. She later pursued her passion for travel as a cruise specialist bringing countless numbers of families, friends, and strangers joy and memories to last a lifetime. She further added to everyone’s memories by taking up photography and acting as the unspoken designated historian for all of our family get togethers and vacations. Always smiling with an infectious laugh, she was selfless and humble and loved those around her unconditionally. This unconditional love and affection stemmed from her deep Catholic faith which eventually led to her become an active member of Bukas Loob sa Diyos, and she has remained close to dozens of members throughout the country whom she befriended while her husband worked as a traveling physician.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alberto C. Pie; children, Nannette and her husband, Jerry Leahy, Jr., Cynthia Pie, and Robert Pie; siblings and their spouses William and Carmela Palencia, Norma and Leo Llave, Wilhelm and Evangeline Palencia, Nancy and Frances Sangreo, and Susana Palencia; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved grand dogs, Celeste and Annabelle.
