Charles B. Boris Jr., 77, of Forked River, passed away on August 22, 2018 in his home surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Charles was born in Centerville PA on May 29, 1941 and grew up in Rahway and Scotch Plaines NJ. Chuck was a member of the Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Atlantic Tire & Supply Co. Avenel for over 45 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol of 54 years; his 3 daughters Christin and Fred Fingerlin of Bayville, Andrea and Alan Haseman of Manahawkin, Michele and Stewart Lynch of Wilmington DE. His 10 grandchildren whom adored him: Samantha and husband Michael, K.C., Brianna, Zachary, Megan, Emily, Joshua, Kelly, Jordan, Charlie. His 2 great-grandson’s Jacob and Luke. His five sisters Irene and Richard Luden of SC, Martha and Chris Desisto of MA, Catherine Jennings of Brick NJ, Dorothy and Michael Koenig of Scotch Plaines NJ, Margie and Paul Dietz of PA, Helen and Daryl Ricker of Toms River NJ, one brother Peter Boris of Clarksburg NJ and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Boris and his sister Mary Ann Yoder.
In his spare time Charles was a boat captain and an avid fisherman. He was happiest when he was out fishing on his boat. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them how to fish. He also enjoyed sharing his mechanical knowledge with the young employees that worked at his shop.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Pius X, 300 Lacey Rd Forked River NJ 08731 Monday August 27, 2018 at 11am. Cremation will be private.
