Ann Marie Cafaro, 78, of Waretown, NJ passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024. Ann, the daughter of the late Peter and Bridget Duggan, was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived happily in Montville, NJ for thirty-seven years raising her two sons.
Ann’s purpose in life was an interweave of two things - bringing joy to others through her compassion and sense of humor, and being there for her family no matter what the ask. The two most important things in Ann’s life were her God and her family. Ann, whose devotion to the Virgin Mary was equally matched by her devotion to her husband and children, often prayed the rosary and never missed a Sunday mass. Ann also never missed an opportunity to tell her sons that they should go to mass too. In fact, Ann continued to remind her sons of all the right things they should be doing up until her last days. While her sons would often respond with annoyance and tone akin to ‘yeah I know, I know’, they always knew deep down that Mom was right as Mothers always know best.
Ann attended Catherine McCauley High School in Brooklyn and shortly after graduation began her career in Manhattan on 5th Avenue as a legal assistant. Ann’s work brought her on many adventures throughout the years including working as an assistant to Jack Dreyfus during the pinnacle of the Dreyfus brokerage business. Ann was later offered an opportunity to work on the floor of the NYSE as a runner, to which she declined for something closer to her heart - raising a family of her own, something that she always wanted.
Ann is survived by her two sons, Nicholas (Christie) and Gerard (Caroline), and her much-loved grandchildren Carly and Everett who were the joys of her life.
