Rosalia Galati Calarco, 54, of the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Township, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed into eternal life on April 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Bishop Ford High School in 1981 then went on to attend Berkley Fashion Institute in NYC graduating with a degree in marketing. She began her career working at Macy’s as a women’s shoe buyer where she traveled the world for designing shoes.
After staying home and focusing on raising her three children, Victoria, Vincent, and Nicholas, Rosalia began working at Lanoka Harbor Elementary School as a paraprofessional with Kindergarten children where she worked for many years.
Rosalia loved to take care of and cook for her family, she enjoyed going on family vacations, playing Buncos with friends, and her happy place was the beach. She was a loving, selfless person who cared deeply for family and was a true friend to many. Rosalia was known for her sassy and energetic personality who always knew how to put a smile on someone’s face.
She was predeceased by her father, Giuseppe Galati
She was the beloved wife of Vincent Calarco for more than 31 years. Surviving are her children, Victoria and her husband Nico, Vincent, and Nicholas; and one loving grandchild to be. Also surviving are her mother, Maria Galati; father-in-law, Vincenzo Calarco; mother-in-law, Arlene Calarco; brother, Peter Galati and his wife Patricia Galati; sister, Maria Formisano; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
