Welcome to the memorial page for

Charlotte P (Piercy) Broome

June 28, 1944 ~ May 5, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Charlotte Broome (Piercy) 72, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 5, 2017.

Born in Plainfield, Charlotte was raised in NJ and graduated from Toms River High School South.   She enjoyed dance, community service, and proudly wore the crown of Miss Ocean County in 1964. Charlotte married her sweetheart George in 1965, residing in Toms River until building their waterfront dream home in Forked River. Together they were blessed with four children and 10 grandchildren.  Her greatest joy was being active in her grandchildren’s lives, creating magical moments for each and every one of them.  Her heart was filled when all of her children were within arms reach.

Charlotte’s hands were always busy. She was an avid gardener and spent numerous hours outside tending to her landscapes and colorful flowers.  Her meticulous hand-stitched quilts won National award recognition.  She touched many lives with her gift of the written word, sending notes of encouragement, comfort, and gratitude in beautiful calligraphy.  Charlotte expressed her love to her friends and family openly, and never missed an opportunity to show how much they truly meant to her.

Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, George and Charlotte Piercy, 2 brothers, George and Doug Piercy, and 2 sisters Janet Wheeler and Edith Addesso.

Charlotte is survived by George, her devoted husband of 51 years, her children Lisa Benjamin (Charles), Catherine Kehm (Christopher), Dianne Hughes (Raphael) and Gregory Broome (Ginessa), her adored grandchildren: Zach, Coral, Christopher, Ray, Catie, Jacob, Cody, Ethan, Charlotte and Alex. Also surviving are her brothers David and Barry Piercy.  She will be greatly missed by lifelong friends with whom she shared many laughs, tears and Friday night dinners.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Charlotte's memory to The Make a Wish Foundation or Children's Miracle Network.
