Axel Plein, age 67, of Manahawkin, died Thursday January 11, 2018.  Born in Germany, he moved to the United States at the age of 5. He recently moved to Manahawkin after being a resident of Brick for over 35 years.  He loved spending time at the ball field watching his grand kids play baseball and softball in his retirement.  He is predeceased by his wife AnnaMary Plein, his mother Brunhilde Marshall, brothers Robert and Richard Marshall.  Surviving are his daughter Katrina Plein and son-in-law Jason Mills of Waretown, his grandchildren Bradley and Rebecca Mills of Waretown, sister Linda Richey and brother in law Mike Richey of Columbia Missouri, sister Kathy Parker and brother in law Dave Parker of Cape Coral Florida and brother William Marshall of Centralia Illinois.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
